How did we determine these business sectors?

We looked at ABS business registration data and compared it with past registrations from our Business Energy and Water Program, which has been operating for more than ten years, to determine these 4 sectors representing the most common business sectors in the ACT.

We know business in the ACT is as diverse as the rest of our community. If your business doesn’t fit into these sectors, or you have a specific use for gas in your business, you may wish to visit the pages we’ve prepared for large gas users, industry, builders and developers, and community groups.

A combination cooktop/oven or standalone oven is an oven that sits in between, or next to, your kitchen bench top. They combine the functionality of a gas cooktop with an electric and/or steam oven in one unit.

A gas instant, or continuous flow, system is usually a rectangular box with 3 pipes connected to the bottom (gas, hot water, cold water). They are often mounted to the outside wall of your home but may also be under the stairs or in a specific cupboard.

A gas ducted system is connected to a series of vents in the floor or roof of your house. A standalone heater can be a portable or wall mounted system in one or more rooms.
